Is it worth avoiding Newlands Cross?

I have to travel up to Dublin in the morning, probably mid-morning. I would normally drive into Dublin and park around Dublin 8 area.

I was wondering with the road works at Newlands Cross whether it would be easier to do the park and ride Luas instead? Possibly Cheeverstown rather than Tallaght.

    Any suggestions?

Provided there's no new leak in the water main I'd take the N7 and drive through Newlands Cross. As long as you avoid peak times it's ok.

There's free parking in the Citywest Shopping Centre and if that's full there's a park and ride at the next stop.
