I have one and it hasn't been used much - I'm thinking of using it again.

    Thanks.

The person makes the picture, the 40D is a great camera in the right hands.

It's an excellent camera. The newer versions dropped the metal body in favour of cheap plastic and added an articulated screen.

The sensor is still excellent while there hasn't been too much done in the replacements which iirc all use variants of the 18 MP sensor you find in everything from the xxxD to the 7D.

Beware! if anyone sees you out in public with an old 40D they will scoff at you and make you into a social leper, you will become Billy NoMates overnight and everyone will consider you a numpty.....To help you out of this I'll give you a tenner for it to save you the embarrassment.... Seriously, they are still a fine camera and you should explore it and enjoy it (My offer of a tenner still stands :) )

Used mine yesterday, young lad was playing hurling. Screen is naff. Other than that, does the job.

I've a 20D, older than yours and the images from it I would find more than acceptable.

At the end of the day camera body itself it not so much important as your lenses.
I still have 40d and I use it for teaching people how to use semi-pro body etc.
