future proof h/w as an Ubuntu user

    Looking for some advice, I want to buy a light laptop/ultrabook. I'm looking to future proof myself for future Ubuntu releases. Anyone up to speed on the plans.
    I'm thinking ultrabook with touchscreen (even though touch screen isn't much addition right now) would be the way to go.
    Any tips?

    I would agree, nice to know tho, no matter what distro you put on it, everything will work out of the box.
