Shotgun Fitting

    Dear all,

I have my shotgun for at least 7 years now and as I have changed physical over these years, the gun has started to fall out of fit for me. It is starting to hurt my cheek at the moment and my shot count has drop as I find it hard to get my eye set down the rib of the gun quickly

The gun itself is a Rizzini and was bought second hand, so havent a clue how old it is. It is very reliable and he never let me down. From talking with another board member a few months ago, they informed me that it may be possible for a shotgun gunsmith to steam and shape the stock again into fit for me. He told me there was a lad in cork that does it but I forgot the name.

My question is does anybody know the lad in Cork or any other specialist shotgun fitters around the country who I go to and talk to? The more information the better.

    Thank you

    Flynn

    Hi Flynn89,
I would recommend Pat Sludds. He altered two shotguns for me ( a sbs and an o/u) and one each for three of my shooting companions at what we regarded as very reasonable prices and with very good shooting results. He is located a few miles south of Enniscorthy.
My only regret is that I did not have it done years ago.

I seen Pat Sludds site pop up a few times, does he just do stocks or can he do the whole gun as I was thinking I would get the barrels and action cleaned while I was at it?.
