I have a samsung s3, I am from Ireland and on the vodafone network. My s3 is 4.3. and for the last few months i have been getting "Device Driver Error: MTP USB Device won't install"

I have seen this all over the net and im exhausted as i have trawlled everywhere and no answer is to be found.

Has anyone discovered why this is an issue and if so how to fix it?

The MTP simply will not install.

I have disabled my AVG, I have uninstalled and updated whenever needed uninstalling and updating. and NOTHING HELPS!!!!!

sometimes the phone tells me i need to install Kies and it may help. It didn't before but right now im installing it again.

    Can you help??

Update: Its still not working with Kies. see pics. HELP!!!!!!

    Are you familiar with regedit?

You need to edit the registry.

Search for WUDFSVC in the registry

press F3 after each search until you see 3 lines (it will take you 5 or 6 presses of F3-DO NOT RUSH you may miss the 3 lines)

The last line will have "ServiceDllUnloadOnStop" The data will need to be changed from 1 to 2

    Right click

    Select Modify

    Change the 1 to 2

    Save.

    Reboot

Hopefully that will fix it for you.

I have lost all faith and hope with Kies and Samsung USB drivers.
Kies has always given me issues and imo there has never been a stable version. I remember it being RAM heavy too...

When you are upgrading your phone, consider a HTC
