Push air though with PIV or pull with MEV?

I've a similar issue to a recent thread with bathroom and also general ventilation for an apartment retrofit. I think at this stage MHRV is a pointless and expensive for basic retrofit.

I'm trying to get my head around the DCV/MEV stuff - I see the logic of the humidity sensitive extract unit (passive/no fan) but what I'm wondering is what happens when you open the bathroom/kitchen window with a fan sucking the wet air from the bathroom/kitchen?

Would I be better off with a simple PIV and Aereco type sensors in the bathroom and bedrooms? If I have a humidity driven extract fan in the bathroom (as well as the window) is that complete over kill?

I guess my question is am I better pushing air though the apartment with PIV or MEV sucking air through the dry rooms and into the wet rooms for extraction?

Any idea if pulling the air through the bedroom trickle vent/duct means more noise ingress?

    thanks
