I'm hoping to do arts next year, career wise I would hopefully like to get a job in the media(such as public relations, events management, journalism) subjects wise I'd hope to take English, psychology, legal studies and maybe philosophy. Could anyone fill me in on these subjects - class size, exams, lecturers, etc? I was thinking of going to GMIT and studying Events Management with Public Relations but it requires foundation maths a B grade and I will be lucky if I scrape a pass so that's pretty much out. Also with arts, I would also be qualified to do journalism - which I have a great interest in and I would definitely be keeping on English after first year :) Also, if anyone could tell the hours in arts that would be great and if you did it/are doing it, did you like the course? Thanks in advance :)

I think you need pass maths to get into college?
    Class sizes - big,
Careers - depends on subject and most people do a postgrad in something more specific after

According to their website, you don't need maths for arts :)

ok cool that's a good rule actually..evil maths
ya Arts is grand anyway,if you want to do Psychology there was a certain amount of places for whoever gets top of the class in first year to switch to a pure Psychology course(unless its changed) it was very competitive
1st year is easy,2nd year too really.. if you want good marks just cop on in final year and go to lectures ect.!

Arts is a general degree, lets you figure out what you like/are good at and then do a post grad to get more qualified.

If you do a practical subject like IT, it'd be relatively easier (note I do not say "easy") to get a job in the field than if you did something like soc & pol, but at the end of the day the course is what you make of it and what happens after is up to you.
