Bikefitting question.

I will have bikefitting done later on this month and I wonder should I keep the bike in the current config or not?

I can feel that my handlebars are too narrow - so should I try to get the correct size now or wait till after the fitting? I guess it might be a bit of a waste of fitting session if my current bars are no good at all?

Wait until the fitting. Some things may require immediate adjustment, but others (saddle height for example) may be suggested to be done in stages. Whoever is doing the bike fitting can advise and give you an idea of what order to do things in (as changing everything at once may actually lead to some problems) if appropriate.

Although there may be a "preferred" width for handlebars, some disciplines can encourage different widths (I'm thinking of the track here where widths are often a little narrower than on the road). You are unlikely to be doing any damage with bars that are too narrow and the fitter may think they are OK anyway. Leave it for them to recommend a width, or else you risk having to change them twice!
