Friend recently told me he has a "droid box" which gets him all the tv he needs.... is this some kind of illegal hacking box or a pay per view set up or does anyone know what exactly they are.
I live in the country and have broadband and Free To Air tv so not sure if I could use one even if I knew what it was.

The boxes aren't illegal, they're just Android boxes running XBMC. Some of the content they access is illegal. Lots of threads about them in the HTPC & Media Centre forum and also in this thread in the Android forum

Thanks. I had a quick look and am a bit more confused but will have to study it a bit better.

We don't typically allow discussion of these boxes in Cable/MMDS, as these systems are closed systems and can only be accessed using cable company approved/provided hardware and (more recently) software.
