According to "Save the Whale", the weedspraying train is to visit the South Wexford line on Friday 16th May departing from Waterford. Of course this is subject to change and the spray train has been known to experience a variety of problems.

Still scheduled for tomorrow, JD. The working has an absolute possession of the line and should be good for the camera swingers.

Swinging the camera is about all you be doing I'm afraid. Cancelled until further notice.

18/7 is the next scheduled date, they ran a recording car and carried out some minor sleeper works over the last few weeks.

Judgement Day

Weed spray train to traverse South Wexford line on Friday 18th July. Departs Waterford at 0700 and arrives in Rosslare Strand at 0940. It returns at 10.10 to Waterford to arrive at 12.50. Optimistic timings.

Per "Save the Wail" this evening.

IR decided to forget about maintaining the line, and find faults just before sending a train through.

Road Diesel is expensive these days. Several gricers up at the crack of dawn this morning......all for nothing.

I heard Monday too. Unfortunately I didn't hear that while waiting for 25 minutes at a Level Crossing on the line.

I noticed the other day that work seems to be progressing to replace an under bridge at MP 78.25, Giles Quay, between Waterford and Belview. It's good to see investment in the line despite just 4 Liner trains each way/week.
