I'm 21. I work bartending 3 times a week (I will go 5-6 times a week in future when I get better). I was working kitchen portering 6 years, but workings weren't that serious. I don't want to go to college, cause I really like bartending. We are mostly practicing technique or make cocktails, and after that we do power excercises.. for example: we sometimes do excersise called spinning. We do 10 flips around back, 10 ice shakings, 10 mixing, 10 something and 10 something. Then, 9 of all of that, then 8, then 7.... all to 1. Sometimes we simply do a series of bar movement excersies (side ones, middle ones..), then climb overs ..... So this is how we do a training: We warm, We practice pulling pints in air (we call it airpints), then we mix drinks or do techniques with our partner.. after that we do these mental exercises, then scretch up again. I'm training it for 4 months, and I did build up my bar skills ofc, but I feel like it stoped getting batter at it. . So how much will I build up my bar skills cause I saw a lot of guys training there all the time, and are the best at pulling pints?

You can learn to pull a pint in a matter of minutes judging by some of the pints I have had. Mixology is a lil different.

Working in bars since I was a gosson, Mothers uncle owns a pub, cousin used to own a pub, most of my jobs until I was about 19 and some of them after that were working behind bars and I started when I was about 12 or 13 in the uncles place.

There is no "skill" or "art" to pulling a pint of anything, it's not hard, you can't get it wrong, it's almost completely autmoated unless you have a gas flow regulator, and even then it requires no skill.

Even casks aren't hard, you just have to put more physical effort into it.

p.s. 1/5 for effort on your comedy attempt.

It doesn't take long to learn how to be a good barperson

However, being an excellent barperson is not something that can be taught, it's either in you or it's not.

It's not that hard to pull a good pint. Most people won't be able to tell the difference between an acceptable pull and a good one

You forgot the bar wipe down and slinging the towel over your shoulder! Most important move of the lot! If you practice enough, you might just make it! Don't use a real towel yet, you could cause some major injury. I call them air wipe downs. Maybe try with serving your family a few drinks and see how it goes? At least you won't be met with a lazy groan/moan like a lot of the clientele you will have to deal with.
