Cocker won't return when on scent, when not on scent she will come to whistle,
When in a hedge she just will jot return, Chases pheasants and rabbits, she is 14 months old,
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Teach her to drop to whistle command. Use a forcefully command like a long loud blast of the whistle. Take her to area's where you know that there is scent, on a lead and when she reacts to it drop her. Keep this up till she is ready to be let off the lead. At least then when she is out and she takes off after something you can drop her and get to her giving you control back. I should have said teach her away from all scent first before taking her to it. Be sure she is perfect at each stage before progressing to the next. Shouldn't take too long to achieve

Back to basics lad take her off scent and Inforce it in her again , then being her out on rabbits , don't be afraid to let a gud shout at her and put the lead back on her ,

Or get a long lead and when u blow the whitle and she doesn't stop a quick tug , it's all about time now . Lots of time

Sounds like your dog is now used to the idea that when she hears the whistle being blown that she can do her own thing anyway.

You need to be consistent when blowing the whistle, every time you blow the recall the dog must come back to you, even if that means you going out after it and dragging it back to the spot where you blew the whistle.

You need to correct the dog at the point it makes the mistake. No point in kicking the **** out of it when it comes back to you after a while. That means getting out after the dog when it makes the mistake i.e. running:eek:. run after the bastard and catch it where it least expects it and make your unexpected meeting as unpleasant as possible, grab it by the throat and drag it back to the point you blew the recall. Sit it in front of you blow the recall again and then give it plenty of praise.

For now though, get yourself one of these and a choke chain http://http://www.ebay.ie/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313&_nkw=retractable+dog+lead+50m&_sacat=0&_from=R40

Stay in the garden for the next few weeks and work on getting the recall corrected. This fellah explains it here but he has a 'shi tzu' the principle is the same though.

This is a typing error by TriggerPL he means let a shout at her, do not shoot at her or you will destroy her.
