Hi folks, visiting Doonbeg later this month and looking for a couple of dog friendly walking trails around the area or further afield. We have two terriers which like to have a run, we keep them on leads any where near roads but would love to be able to let them off lead when safe to do so.

I checked out a couple of links in the stickies above but some of the them seem to be expired. Any coastal routes considering we are so close to the beach would be great.

    Thanks in advance
P.S. Once we have the dogs tired out, any recommendations on entertainment for their owners. Good pubs and good grub being top of the list. :D

Doonbeg, a great place to visit, great food available in the village plenty night life and if you are into golf there are three courses , the local one, with Kilkee and Kilrush only a short drive. Dont worry about the dogs there are plenty places to take a stroll locally or go to the Vandelleur walled gardens in Kilrush. Great beaches as well.

Doughmore Beach, beside the Golf Course is a great spot for dogs. It's not a problem to bring them there.
The Kilkee Cliff walk would be the closest recognised coastal walk to you. It's short enough though.

A better one is the one near the Cliffs of Moher.

For food I'd recommend Morrisseys in Doonbeg, Good food at reasonable prices.
Or there's Doonbeg Lodge for something a bit more up market if you dont mind spending the€€€€!

There is no shortage of fantastic places to walk the dogs just do a bit of exploring, from beaches, woods, walking trails and the shannon estuary. Hope your dog likes to swim!
