ROS VRT Calculator - could you potentially be caught for more when you present car?

I was just using the Revenue's VRT Calculator to get a VRT amount for a Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost.

On the site there is only the option for the 100bhp or 125bhp versions of this engine, but this doesn't differentiate between Edge, Zetec, Titanium models.

I was wondering if you got your VRT amount (in this case approx €2900) then landed with the top of the range Titanium model with Sat Nav, full leather etc, could you get hit with extra charges on top of the €2900?

And if so, roughly how much do they add on for 'extras' and how do they quantify it? Has it happened to anyone?

Yes, the final assessment is when you present car.

Do they have a document that might show how much more you would be charged for extras?

Pretty sure its based off the book price of that model with a suitable adjustment for trim level. I'm not sure if its openly available as whenever i've heard of someone VRT-ing it seems to be plucked from the air.

If it was me, I'd base your estimates off the worst case i.e. Most expensive version of that car to import. Its not going to be (much) worse than that on a bad day. Always better to over estimate anyway.

I believe any payment for extras is reduced by 25 percent each year until there is no charge at 4 years old. Vrt on extras is charged at the percentage rate of the Vrt of the vehicle.
So if there were extras worth 5k on a car that was now 2 years old and the rate of vrt based on emissions was 16%, you would pay 50% of 16% of 5k which is 400.
