I have a cow that is finding it very hard to walk. It's as if she is taking baby steps with her back legs. I clipped the back hoofs hoping this would help bit of to no avail. Her feet are not warm so I'm ruling out laminitis. She's calved about 6 weeks with no trouble calving and her feet were fine in the shed. It's only seemed to have got very bad since I put her to grass and especially grass that got slurry 5 weeks ago. Any help much appreciated! Vet seems to not have a clue also.

Surprised nobody has replied to this.
Could she have hurt her back? Maybe when she was in heat and mounted?

I have a cow with her time up. She probably won't calve for a week yet. She has become very lame on the back hoof and I was wondering should I wait until she calves to get her looked. I normally get a man in every second year to check out all the cows but for one cow I am not sure he will come straight away. He normally comes when there is a days work around the place.

My options are to leave her in discomfort until she calves or take a chance going at her before she calves. I'm a bit nervous going near her before she calves incase anything happens the calf.

    What ye reckon?

I'd leave her if she only has a week to go, after calving might take allot of pressure off of her to.
