    Hi!

I'm a French student and I've just learnt I've been pre-selected to study in NUI Galway from September 2014 to May 2015 for my third year, so now I have to find some accomodation. I have no idea whether some single rooms in student villages are still available, and which student village would suit me best (I am a hard-working student who still wants to take the opportunity of being in Galway to discover the Irish culture & habits, so I would like to have fun without the village being a party centre). Or do I have no choice because all bookings are over? I hope everything is clear and sorry for any mistakes.

    Thanks for answering!

Hi Sorry I have no idea if the single rooms are all booked but if you take a look at their web sites it that might be able to help you

    Hi Reveuse,

You should contact the NUIG Accommodation Office. The two women there are very helpful. The contact details are available here: http://www.nuigalway.ie/student_services/accommodation_office/

You should try to sort out accommodation as soon as you can, as the housing market in Galway around the University is very competitive!

    Bon chance! :)

The main student accommodation complexes are Corrib Village, Dún na Coiribe, Gort na Coiribe, Dún Aengus and one or two more that escape me. Perhaps googling them will help you out.

Another option is private accommodation, take a look at http://www.daft.ie to see average rent costs etc.

Enjoy your time in Galway, it's a great city!

    Hi!

I have called the woman of the accomodation office and indeed she was really nice and helpful, I think I will have a room in Cuirt na Coiribe booked by tomorrow. Thanks to all for your answers!

check out gortnacoribenuig . it wont allow me to post the URL
I think it will fit your description. Are there parties? Yes, but nothing crazy because there is security. However, maybe a little expensive.

Thanks for your answer shnapback. I actually managed to book a room in Cuirt na Coiribe two weeks ago. :)

My son is studying commerce, so where would be nearest for him to start searching?

He will be walking so the nearer the better.

Hey, in case anyone is still looking I have a single room available from mid-August in the private accommodation side of Gort na Coiribe. It'd be sharing with 2 guys who are working nearby so it'd be quiet enough and it's close to the shops. Message me if you want more details on it.
