My Cateye Strada had been inactive for approx 2 months during the winter months and I noticed after my first cycle, when I updated my Excel log etc., that the odometer reading had accumulated an additional 26km. during the dormancy period. I have since logged approx. 900km and everything appears to be working correctly - verified some of the distances covered with previous cycles etc. etc. The clock had a small error as well, but not significant. Wondering has anyone else experienced this or is it likely that the unit is faulty?

Other electronics can interfere. I've had very high max speed readings from being in my pocket with a mobile phone. When the wires from my dynamo ran from the sensor to the computer the unit wouldn't register more than 5kph when the light was on. That seems like a lot of phantom distance but I wouldn't worry about it so long as it is accurate when you are using it.

Thanks for that - electronic interference is the probable reason as the unit was left on my desk beside laptop and modem etc. Didn't think of that actually - thank you.
