Main contractor didn't register payment

Hi. Did work recently as a sub contractor. Gave invoice in the proper fashion stating main contractor to account for VAT. Got paid the amount I invoiced but the main contractor never registered it with revenue. Can this come back on me or cause me hassle or is it his problem. Thanks
