Bt Sport Vs Sky Sports Your Verdict So Far...

Now that the Premier League is drawing to a close what does everyone think of the coverage and the type of games that Bt and Sky have been showing.

It seems Sky have all the good matches at the moment but during Christmas when Setanta offered their sports pack for €1 there were some great matches on BT Sport.

Cant say much about the Scottish league because there were no big matches.

I also hated Michael Owens commentary on Bt.

It's pretty dire for the sportsfan having alot of sports now split across the 2. I cba subscribing to both at that price on UPC, so essentially I am getting my sky sub diluted 50%. Rugby and Soccer would be my main sports. Considering cancelling tbh and just watching streams on the PC going forwards.

I think the very fact you can subscribe to BT via Setanta without the need to sign up to a base pack on Sky to then get the Sport, is a major winner for me.

OK, Owen should be outed quick-fast - but that's the only negative for me in regards to BT.

Sky is just far too expensive.

Bts obsession with Liverpool fc is off putting.

I prefer BT for their UFC coverage. Also it is a hell of a lot cheaper than Sky.

To get Sky Sports it will cost €54/month
Setanta Pack is less than €20

    No contest

yeah & getting the HD channels included is another plus for BT/Setanta

    sky sports costs even more, it's €64 (28 + sports 36)
though if you take ss1 or 2 on their own it's €21 extra. i think all PL games & were on ss1, still 2.5 x more than BT/Setanta however.

BT is good for european football, american sports & rugby. PL not so much except as mentioned around xmas, until about february they had the some good matches, though so had sky with the amount of packs they own.
that pattern is likely to continue for the rest of the current PL deal apparently, sky being better due to the amount of packs owned. i read on DS that for the next deal they wouldn't necessarily have to take the majority of packs or the main one to get a much better offering but the second choice package would make them a lot stronger, controlling picks or something, i can't remember exactly

even if they're likely to get more expensive with the CL rights and maybe addition PL, would they not continue to be successful as long as they keep it under the price of sky sports, not even including the extra for the base pack on sky?

Whatever about the games they show their premier league coverage is unbearable. A heap of ex liverpool players and Neil Warnock, Owen commentating, screens within screens, a ref as a pundit... brutal.
