Hey all, I know this question has been asked before but I was hoping someone could tell me based on their own experience and not the 28 days as quoted on the website.

GF was in an accident a few years ago, everything is now settled in the sense she accepted the settlement from the Injuries board. Her solicitor has said she should receive payment in 4-6 weeks. A week and a half later she received a letter from solicitor with the details of payment etc.. So her payment less fees and vat, she signed it and sent it back, she called to tell them and asked again how long, she was told again 4-6 weeks.
4 weeks has since past since sending back the letter....

I was just wondering if anyone has an idea of how long it took for them?

Reason I ask, we are currently looking to buy a house and we are looking to add the amount to our deposit, we are waiting for the cheque and the bank are waiting for us etc.. etc...

I would expect it in the next week or two but perhaps that is whishful thinking...

Ask the solicitor if he has received the cash. It's not unknown for some solicitors to allow money to rest in their accounts for a short period. If he hasn't received it ask him to contact the other party and see what's happening.

OK thanks, so I was not sure how this works.
So the insurance company send the cash to our solicitor first?
Then the solicitor firm sends it on to us?
