Do people have any ideas for things the nieces and nephews can do to take part in our civil ceremony? I have involved 4 (out of 16!) to do readings/hand out programs but I've had a lot of long faces from some of the others but can't think of any makey uppy jobs for them to do! Any ideas??

Hmmm, if you're having rings maybe get one of them to mind the rings?

A few nieces could be flower girls of a sort, let them hold little baskets with petals to scatter.

Depending on the numbers you'll be having at the ceremony, you could have a few nephews act as ushers. Greet guests as they come in and help them find seats.

If you're doing any kind of ceremonies eg. candle or sand, one of the older ones could mind the stuff you're using for that and let them help set it up.

Any play any instruments? If so you could have them play a song.

    I'll try think of more!

I saw a fab idea lately of getting the kids to be "hush keepers"...If you can get your hands on cheap but big frames, print out "Ssssh!" or "quiet Please" for them so they can hold them up just before ceremony starts/while guests are being seated.. the "awwws" and "aaahs" were lovely-especially for the very small ones.

You could also do the same for during the ceremony with applause ones or I saw separate ones for the words HERE COMES THE BRIDE before which was sweet too as it was all little girls.

Then you can have two "escorts" for walking down the aisle, holding one of each of your hands. Might make for great photos too.

Sorry if these all seem a little sappy... I work with very small kids everyday and would love to have them all involved when if/when I get married! :D
