I've got one of these, love it. I went for Brown switches after trying Reds, Blues and Browns on other people's keyboards (mostly DAS'). I can't overstate how useful it would be to try out the different options and find the one you like. The Browns are considered a nice middle ground between gaming and everyday typing (my keyboard comes in and out of work with me).

There was some discussion about it in this thread in the Games forum recently.

Do yourself a favour and pick up a switch sampler like this first, and try out the different types. You can read descriptions of the switches online, but that doesn't really do them justice (personal experience).

I'm currently using Browns, but I'm going to be switching to Blues as soon as a certain keyboard I'm waiting on shows up.

Using a Ducky Shine 2 with red keys, great keyboard but it's a little pricey

    Good idea Serephucus.

I am looking around to see if I can get one closer to hand, the cheapest I can see that one for is 13.18 stg and then 3.50 for Parcel Motel.

I know what you mean about choosing the right switch beforehand.

If you decide to just go for a regular keyboard for gaming the below is the one I eventually settled on based on price colour scheme and backlight. It's got backlights and 5 macro keys, pulse LED, adjustable lighting and a windows key lock:

The only ones that caught my eye when I was looking into mechanical keyboards were the Corsair Vengence K70 and K95. But in the end I settled on the above.
