Colortrend Waterbased Satinwood Paint

Went to the factory store today in Celbridge and bought some French White Water based satinwood paint to paint the doors/skirtings/architraves and wardrobe doors in my bedroom.

Thought I previously had a white satinwood paint, but when I got home wife said its not a satinwood but a satin paint.

Showed me the tin and its Crown Pure Brilliant White Liquid Satin for interior doors and wood.

So did I get the wrong paint from Colortrend? Lady in shop asked me was it going over water or oil based and I just thought it was water based. Any helpful suggestions as to whether I can use what I bought or should I return it and get something else instead to go over what I have?

    Thanks

    Hi
a phone call to Celbridge will give you advice on how to prepare the surface (if a painter & decorator does not reply here) but you are dealing with 2 different colours - Brilliant White & French White - that might be more of an issue for you I think.
French White is a great colour, but you will end up repainting everything that now is Brilliant White.
