Just seen that sad news :(, I remember him fondly from my childhood and some good old nostalgia starring in Hook and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Ah crap :( one of my favourites.

Have to post this, one of the great final scenes of a film. Not a word needs to be said

'The Trouble with Michael Caine' featured the spitting image version of Caine and Hoskins having a chat must see if I can find it.

He was excellent in the BBC drama "The Street" a few years back.Think that's the last thing I saw him in.

I can't make my mind up which I prefer as his best role, though. LGF or Mona Lisa.

What a great idea. LGF tonight and Mona Lisa another night.

He oozed brutality in the LGF. Hidden for the most part but...........

    Great acting.

Incredible actor and I particularly liked the fact that he wasn't classicly good looking: pure charm and talent.

    Really sad to read this.
His performance as Harold Shand in The Long Good Friday will live long in the memory. A truly compelling and at times frightening performance.

Also loved him in Brazil and Mona Lisa.

    RIP Bob.

Played the bad guy in Unleashed a movie with Jet Li as his hitman/brain washed goon, Bob was a monster in it, great film.

    RIP Mr. Smee. :(

I watched the long good friday again the other night. This scene at the end is Bob's finest moment in my opinion.
