Yeah, great in Roger Rabbit alright.

Really good in Shane Meadows' "Twenty Four Seven" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty_Four_Seven_(film)

That is very sad to hear about his passing.

My favourite film I saw in him in was the inspector in Rodger Rabbit.

There is another movie from the 80's that I had seen that was repeated on RTE 1 a few years ago starring Cher named Mermaids.

He did such a great job in that movie.

    R.I.P Bob Hoskins.

I first saw him as the sheet music salesman in Dennis Potters 'Pennies from Heaven'.

I know he'd suffered from Parkinsons these past few years, but that's sad news indeed.

    RIP.

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

    Other notable films
    Mona Lisa
    Brazil
    Last Orders

Yes he was like a taller, lesser-known Danny DeVito. RIP.
    or a rounder Michael Kane.

    quoting himself

"Most dictators were short, fat, middle-aged and hairless. Besides Danny DeVito, there's only me to play them".

[on the acting profession] "I came into this business uneducated, dyslexic, 5ft 6in, cubic, with a face like a squashed cabbage and they welcomed me with open arms."

    On Mario
"The worst thing I ever did? Super Mario Bros. (1993). It was a f**kin' nightmare. The whole experience was a nightmare. It had a husband-and-wife team directing, whose arrogance had been mistaken for talent. After so many weeks, their own agent told them to get off the set! F**kin' nightmare. F**kin' idiots"

"Family's all I've got. I've got money, yeah, but it's my family that I care about."

[in his last-ever interview in August 2012] "My greatest pleasure in life is a completely appointment-less day with nothing to do. It means I can read a book, listen to the radio and do exactly as I wish. If you are going to do a film properly you have to give yourself completely to it. You can't slip in and slip out again. You give it the business. My diary now is free, completely free. That's the way I like it. I only do what I want to do."

Loved him in Twenty Four Seven, terrific story and well acted. He was in Spiceworld that same year, how's that for versatility.

RIP Bob, wonderful actor and seemed like an absolute gentleman.

It's a sad loss for his family. I loved Bob. He was a great actor and I thought he was a very sexy man also in his day….and I'm 5ft 10'!

Must source Who Framed Roger Rabbit for the kids, and Mona Lisa for myself.

The man was being very harsh on himself by saying he had a face like a squashed cabbage!

I'm glad to see all the mix-ups with Danny DeVito. I thought I was the only person who confused a cockney with an Italian-American from New Jersey. :)
Although... wow they were alike! https://i.chzbgr.com/maxW500/4246763008/h55B4CF2C/
