I got Alopecia. I don't smoke while I am with my boyfriend and I notice that my hair gets stubble when I am with him. However when I am home and I smoke the stubble is going.

I only read that smoking can cause a slow down of the hair growing. But I'm sure your doc can tell.

I have never heard any DIRECT link between smoking and hair loss.

However, a lot of smokers end up getting chemotherapy and that plays hell with your follicles. As I can attest myself.

I never saw that anybody is having hair loss problem due to smoking but yes it may be possible because cigarette contains nicotine which is very harmful for health, it would cause many health problems.
