    Just a quick question:

What PRSI class does a directors wife come under? Director owns 80% shareholding in company. Obviously the Director will be class S, but what about his wife?

    Thanks in advance

Depends on whether they opt for joint assessment or not I guess.

    Moved from state benefits.

Depends on whether wife is working in the business or not. If working in the business still may not be S1 - need to submit for assessment to DSW. They determine whether your wife takes on the responsibilities of a genuine business partner / owner or acts as an employee who works and takes standard employee type responsibilities which would deem them to be Class A1.

This Scope Section in DSP make the decision regarding PRSI classifications. Details on attached link.

    Hi

Its pretty much up in the air at the moment due to an EU court case on the matter.

I understand that up until recently the DSP Scope section are not issuing rulings on whether a person is class S or class A PRSI.

I am unsure if this is still the case.
