The ifj ran a headline last week about talks of a new REPS scheme.

Anybody know or hear any details?

God knows beef and sheep farmers especially could do with the extra few quid!

A year out of Reps is a chance to build up phosphate and tidy up ditches

That'll be GLAS. Not sure when it's opening yet. Off to a meeting tomorrow night so might find out something, or just hear the latest rumours.

Only thing I heard about glas is that species rich pasture with only 1 bag N per acre and stocked at a low rate (not sure how low, perhaps 60-100kg n /ha??) can qualify for a payment of €125/ acre for 25 acres. The stocking rate restriction is so low it would hardly make it worthwhile unless you had a mountain. There is also a hay meadow payment, bit like the corncrake scheme, can't be cut before 1st of July. I reckon this scheme is only for planners.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

It'll be very disappointing if it is, 55% of the money is coming from Europe, so it should be in the countries interest to make it as easy as possible for the farmers to draw the money

it's basically going to be AEOS4 with more budget to take in more applicants as far as I can see.

The days of money for jam in REPS are over forever.
