    Has anyone seen Awakenings (1990)

    It is about the victims of an encephalitis epidemic many years ago have been catatonic ever since, but now a new drug offers the prospect of reviving them.

    It is an extremely sad and moving movie based on a true story. Robert De Niro should have won an Oscar for it. Has anyone else seen it and if so what did you think of it?

    Yeah, it was great.

    This is the film where Robin Williams throws balls at catatonic patients, but they catch the balls!

    SPOILERS


    Saw it a good while ago, but I remember how De Niro's character got increasingly bitter and angry as he eventually receded back into his coma. Found that sad alright.
