Hi all.Friend of mine sold his 1st ever car today.I was not there with him but explained how to fill up log book. All went good but he forgot to put SALE DATE ...Neither him or new owner spotted that, only me when I saw photo of filled log book :D Documents has been posted today but I could not get in touch with Shannon.
What will happen now? Will Shannon post back log book to fix that mistake?

Shannon will date it from the day they enter it on the system

Shannon got cert on tuesday but motor tax website doesnt show any details of changing ownership.Does it take long to see status on their website? We tried to call ''party line'' but no luck

Only the civil servants in shannon can answer that question.

I presume its in the BIG in pile waiting to be processed.

on average takes 10 to 14 days includung postage for cert to arrive at new owners address. So I guess it will be next week

when I bought my car recently , I checked motortax.ie regularly so I could tax it ASAP as I was using it. It took nearly 2 weeks before it showed up on system and the following day the cert arrived in post.

This is what I tought.Last month when I bought mine I saw update after 1 day since they got it.Maybe there is delay coz he did not put sale date or lost in post( he did not register letter)? He is worrying that he will get speed camera fines,M50 etc but the worse scenario is that cert will be posted back to put sale date.
