computer science/software development courses?

    I'm in leaving cert. at the moment looking to do something in the IT sector/computers.
    my current choices are
    -computer science and software engineering in maynooth(science entry)
    -arts in maynooth(taking computer science+2 others)
    -im also considering software development in it carlow.

    Anyone know of any other good computer courses...preferably general ones rather than games design and all that and preferably in maynooth,carlow or athlone.
