Is Phil's campaign scuppered? Eamon Gilmore and Joan Burton have let her have it with both barrells. Is she finished? Then again, did she ever start?

At 4% she is too far behind to retain her seat.

Perhaps when she returns to civilian life she will call herself 'Philomena'.... like a normal person with that name.

It's even worse than you think. Her campaign posters in Tipperary call her "Tipperary's MEP"

Should be "Unelected" MEP. The only reason an MEP cannot see out their term should be death or serious illness. How many of our MEP's have been elected? If they are not available for the full term, they should not stand. This use of "reserves" makes a mockery of an election. Phil may have been No 1 reserve, but Paul Murphy was No 4! No's 1, 2 and 3 didn't want the job!

Her campaign was a non-starter, that Labour seat is gone. I'd say they will concentrate their resources elsewhere after Phil's outburst about the Labour party leadership.

Phil is always mainly interested in what is best for Phil. She flipped backwards and forwards between Labour to Seamus Healy's WUAG party and back to Labour depending on who offered her the best option (Council seat - run for the dail - Senate Seat - MEP seat). And to be fair to her up to now she has timed her flips well when it comes to advancing her career but it looks like Phil may have left it too late to jump off the Labour horse this time.

Would she have a pension as a former Senator?
