1gb or 2gb gpu?

    Hi I'm interested in buying a new Graphics card and I'm wondering if a 2gb gddr5 gpu is necessary? I'm considering buying a 1gb instead as I'll only be using my computer for gaming.

    Don't get hung up on numbers, a 1gb GPU can be far more powerful then a 2gb and visa versa. You need to asses the model number and its particular performance against its price.

    Depends on the game but I usually game at 1600x900. Any suggestions on a 1gb gpu? 90 quid budget

    1600x900 is a fairly low resolution in gaming terms, 1GB would be plenty but as Cuddlesworth says check out the gpu performance charts.
