Why would you buy those legs from Turkey? Any half decent fabricator can make you a set of them here.
BTW those ones on Etsy aren't stainless just mild steel.

I probably won't buy them from Turkey. These are just an example of what I found online. If I can source them locally I will. Just not many local blacksmiths touting their wares on the internet :)

Do you know of any I could contact? And would you consider this feasible?

    Thanks

I know of two local to me in Cork, but I am sure that there must be some near you?
Where in the country are you?

Thanks. I'm in Kildare. I actually found someone locally by calling around. I'll get in touch and send them some pics.

Question still remains whether this should be an easy job or not though. Seems handy enough. Just looking for advice on anything I might be missing?

Should be very easy, I'd make the top mounting plates bigger and use plenty of small screws. for strength.

Sound. Appreciate that. Would you think the legs need lateral support for a piece of wood at maximum 2 metres in length and 40mm thick? I'd guess not but if I was an expert I wouldn't be on here!

If you were getting legs made, I would ask for a longtitudinal member running from the middle of the X's That would make the whole structure a lot more rigid and resistant to racking forces.

Ya it would be easy enough them worktops come in 900mm x 3600mm are around €500 and 650mm x 4000mm are €450 if 900mm is wide enough go for that one or cut the 650mm in half and join and you have 1300mm x 2000mm table sand all the edges well and finish with a two pack polyurethane screw on legs
