I have been taking a quick look through Amazon and there appears to be a few basic text books but I am wonder can the forum members recommend any in particular, obviously African Archaeology is a vast area but something on the lines of Waddells The Prehistoric Archaeology of Ireland would be what I am looking for, as in…

I have been taking a quick look through Amazon and there appears to be a few basic text books but I am wonder can the forum members recommend any in particular, obviously African Archaeology is a vast area but something on the lines of Waddells The Prehistoric Archaeology of Ireland would be what I am looking for, as in academic and well researched but readable and not presupposing a large back ground knowledge.
