The biggest stroked horse of 2013 runs in the 7.05 Windsor Number One London.I put him up as a steering job when I and others got 16/1 returned 7/2 and was told as they were going to post to get rid of my bet.He finished a well beaten 4th[genuine reason for that position as I pointed out to certain folks here at the time].If Meehan lets the brake of a degree this wins hard held but its a very big IF.I have no info today for it as I told my contact Im not interested about anything from Meehans yard.

    1.40 Kempton

    Updated 12/1

Although beaten at least 14L on her 3 starts to date, I think there has been enough promise shown by this well bred 3 year old to suggest she has a future as a racehorse and now sent handicapping off a very lowly mark of 49 with the step up to 1m3f guaranteed to suit I think she could leave her poor form figures behind her and put up a big performance today. Campaigned over 7f on her two starts as a 2 year old and upped to a mile for her latest run 27 days ago, I feel this daughter of New Approach ran well to a point on all 3 occasions before being readily outpaced over trips too short and the step up in trip will definitely be to her liking. Being a half sister to Group 3 winner South Easter as well as the pretty decent First Buddy, Updated is certainly bred to be quite a bit better than her mark of 49 and I'm hoping the step up in trip coupled with being pitched into a low grade handicap will see her show up in a much better light and the booking of Jamie Spencer certainly is encouraging. I feel trainer Ismail Mohammed is going to have a huge year this season and his stable are coming to form with 2 winners from his last 3 runners (including handicap debutant at Kempton yesterday) and although it's a case of being hopeful rather than confident about this filly's chances, 12/1 looks a very reasonable price given a mark of 49 could prove to be something she could potentially scoot in off.

Doesn't look like Updated's prospects of being a racehorse look great. That was woeful!

I wouldn,t write her off yet Rossom.the horse that finished behind her on her last run won the 2nd race at kempton @ 20/1.I don,t think the yard are in form.

Dermot Weld has 2 runners today, both in the 7:55pm at Naas. I have backed the more fancied of the 2 (Backdrop). Have no info other than the fact that his horses are in superb form and this one ran a fairly decent race at Dundalk last time. I am in at 4/1.

    What about Maarek?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,370 ✭✭✭rossom

Will be cheering Maarek on but after his last run on ground likely quicker than ideal and giving 15lb away to O'Brien's I won't be on.

Yard had 2 winners from last 3 runners before her today so don't think there is anything wrong with the yard's horses!

Good run from Mareek! Winner looks nice too.

Pretty happy with that run from Maarek. No easy task to give 15lb to what looks a very decent O'Brien horse on ground that was quicker than ideal. A huge step in the right direction after his shocking reappearance. Should be off to York for the Clipper Logistics next month.

I wonder is Joseph going to consider calling it quits after this flat season. He was a pound overweight today and a pound overweight at Dundalk last week. Seems to obviously be struggling with weight.

Need to find out the real going at Naas today because War Envoy was seriously impressive. He has a very smooth action like a horse that will want very quick ground and his breeding also says quick. This is a serious good horse on quick ground Imo.

Going was definitely better than good to yielding - all times today were fast by a few seconds.
