Alarm turns off after 1 minute Galaxy S5

This seems like a stupid setting to me.

I set the alarm to go off. After one minute if I don't touch the phone it silences itself. I can't see any setting to stop this behaviour so I wanted to check if anybody else has gotten it to work like a normal alarm (i.e. repeat until snooze or stop is pressed).

    I know two possible fixes.
1: turn the alarm off before the minute is up.
2: download an app that works like a proper alarm.

I can do option 2 but I can't believe they designed it like this on purpose and hope there is some setting I can change to stop the alarm from turning off. It feels daft having to download an extra app just because of one tiny stupid setting.

I can't comment on fixing the stock Samsung alarm app but I would recommend Timely as an alternative.

    Looks & works great!
    Plenty of configuration options
    Cloud Sync

The app is so good Google bought out the company that made it.

The snooze time is adjustable, see the image below (currently set to 5 minutes, 3 times). Just tap to change it.

Snooze: Touch the slider Slider Off Icon_Slider_Off[0].png to turn Snooze on Slider On Icon_Slider_On[0].png

Touch Snooze to adjust the snooze settings, and set an Interval (3, 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes) and Repeat (1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 times).

Yep, that's the one I'm going to use. It has a nice feature too of a night clock. Plug in your phone and turn that on. It gives a very dim clock which is fine in a dark room. Dead handy when travelling.

It's not a snooze though. I don't use snooze. I set the alarm for the last possible second that I can stay in bed for. :P
I never miss the alarm but for the one day in 50 that I might be sleeping heavy I don't want to get up late because the phone decided that if I didn't answer it after a minute then it'll turn the alarm off for me.

The snooze can be automatic, whats your preference set to? Switch it to 30 minutes and leave your alarm for a minute plus and see if it keeps ringing.

Better still, set day dream in display settings to come on with timely selected in night mode. That way when you plug it in (I have a desk charger) at night it immediately brings up timely with the night clock dimmed.
