I don't know the proper name for these but I have only seen these in Penneys and I can't get them to stay on at all, they fall down at the heel in no time. It feels like they're too small but I'm size 7 and these are 4-8 and I haven't seen bigger.
Has anyone found better ones elsewhere? preferably with nice edges in case they're visible (the Penneys ones look grand I think, they're just not for me
    Thanks!

I think they are called shoe liners? You could try marks? I use the penneys ones and they are touch and go for me, haven't tried marks ones though.

Brown Thomas usually sell these "sock liners" in their tights/hosiery section, they usually have a few different types and brands (e.g. Wolfords). You might also get them in some boutiques.
I've bought Wolfords ones before from BT's and they are much better quality than the Penny's ones, as they have a proper heel and toe section, and fit much better.
Also, if you happen to go abroad (especially to France) you can find lots of good quality
ones in the larger clothes shops.

I've seen some nice ones in TK Maxx in Stephens green by the till - they had converse ones etc that looked better than the Penney's ones. My boyfriend found the Puma ones good for inside trainers.

I've seen them in H&M. Haven't tried them though, so don't know if they're any good.

Some of the Penneys ones have a silicone strip at the heel that helps with keeping them on. I'm a size 7.5 and these stay on my feet all day.

I bought some in marks over the weekend, but I got the ones that go up past the ankle. I know how grannyish it must sound! But they're great for wearing heels with jeans/trousers without chafing on bare skin.

Marks definitely had the ones you're asking about as well, OP.

I bought some in M&S- they barely slip over your toes so they're quite invisible inside shoes. The back of the sock (at the heel) has a rubber grip interior to help them stay on.

I've tried versions of these from lots of places and the best by far were the ones I got from New Look. They have lasted really well and always stay in place. Got ones in H&M and they literally fell apart after one wear.
