    what is on the VLC?

With regards to insurance on this car the registered engine size will mean nothing and the risk assesment will be based on your age, location, driving experience, previous claims, penalty points / endorsements and also the actual car itself.

    where's the ripoff?

or is it in a wrong thread?

btw insurance does not by 1.3, 1.4, 2.0 etc. It goes by power of the vehicle, type of vehicle, person driving it. RX8 is a sports car and probably a favoured boy racer type. It will be rated as "we don't want to insure it because we don't insure boy racers" so we'll quote you 4k+

Its a 1.3 but that has no impact on the insurance price anyway.

Engine size actually does have an impact on your insurance quote, only in Ireland
Because the Mazda is a Rotary engine its a 1.3 which is taxed as a 1.8 and many insurance companies regard it as a 2.6 for insurance purposes, this is due to the way mazda decided it was a 1.3, using traditional piston engine methods of measurement its a 2.6 errrr technically

It's either a 190 or 231hp car no matter what it's registered as, so most insurerers won't go easy on that.
