    Hello all,

Question for ye in what length if time I should allow between putting out fertiliser and puttin in ewes

    I normally leave 3 weeks

But I have one field where there I put out a heavy application. The reason for this is its a high field and I got the contractor to put out the stuff.

So there was about 3 bags 18-6-12 / acre.
Would 3 weeks still be ok to put the ewes in, or should I leave it longer, and if so - how long?

Edit : I leave it 3 weeks, not 4. Bloody fat fingers...

If i was spreading a bag or bag and a half i would leave them in the field, anymore and i would take them away for a week or ten days.
But generally wouldnt be spreading any more than a bag or so at a time unless i was taking up silage

    Yes :)

There is lush green grass there the likes of which hasn't been there before. Plus, the grass seems to nearly be growing faster then the ewes could eat it when they went into the field first :)
They'll be coming out of it now on Monday I'd say...
