Tesco Motor Insurance Renewal

I got my renewal for Tesco car insurance. Last year my premium was 350 euro.

This year it was 1050! I have less penalty points and an extra year of no claims. No accidents or any changes to my circumstances.

I phoned them up thinking it was a mistake and was told the charges had increased...

Needless to say I will not be renewing!

Wish I didn't have to change insurance every year to avoid this type of shafting...

As far as I know they are pulling out of the Irish market so probably just want rid of customers.

Last October, mine went from €750 to €1300.... Called them up just like yourself and I was told that was correct. Didn't bother to renew as I used car once a week. Not driving anymore and when I am ready, will go with its for women or 25plus. Ridiculous they are!

I was with them for years, never an issue, then RSA took over and my renewal went from €210 to €400. Went to Liberty and got a better policy for €260.

    Who'e leaving the market? RSA?

Tesco are leaving the market, they acted as agents for RSA, my renewal increased with them (tesco) last year, so i went on their site and filled in all my details as a new quote and it was over €100 less than the renewal, so I rang to say I wont be renewing after confirming this I gave the girl the new quote ref number and told her i will be taking that policy and she said ok and i paid there and then on the phone, strangely i still had to send my NCB into them that they sent to me  but still saved over €100. they are gone now I think (tesco) got a letter saying they are out of the market and that RSA would be contacting me at my next renewal.
