Hi there, I bought a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 recently and have been looking into cables that would let me connect to tv to watch movies etc. Im pretty much a novice as such creative thinking when it comes to computers and tablets so I went to the people who I thought would know best at PC World, Power City, Harvey Norman etc but none of these "experts"could point me in the right direction. I came away feeling stupid thinking my request was a simple one.

So I took to the internet and came across a Tab excessory that allows me connect a hdmi cable to the tablet. Problem is that I also came across reviews advising that the connection only works for Tab 1 version. I tried to contact Samsung customer support but even they could not answer my question. So Im stuck in limbo - I dont want to spend money on a devise that may not work and nobody on this whole Island seems to be able to point me in the right direction.

Does anybody know of any more capable IT shops or advisors that might point me in the right direction or has anybody had similar experience? TV is a 3 year old Sony Bravia.

Get a chromecast dongle, you can then mirror the screen to your tv

According to this, that Tab may not be compatible with MHL/HDMI adapters shown:

You need to check your actual model number.

Unless you have a US model, noHDMI....

Chromecast is definitely an option for connectivity, unless you have a Smart TV or a Roku box??

AFAIK, Chromecast does not support screen mirroring [Miracast], but DLNA and Samsung Smartshare are OK.
