division of assets / debts

    Hi all.

After 12 years of marriage, I have debts to a total of about 220k.

I own half a house (in my name) - parents own other half. House is worth about 240k. So my half is worth say 120k and the mortgage is 160k outstanding (in my name, and included in the 220k debt above). Other debts are loans etc.

I have a savings scheme (overseas) worth about 40.

So - on balance my debts far outweigh my assets.

The Mrs has no debts in her name. She does however have a house and land in her name, overseas, worth about 20-30k.

Generally - if divorce is the final conclusion here - then what will happen? Am I going to have to "pay" her anything?

We have a 7 yr old child but I will always look after her financial needs.

    Thanks.

Sorry OP but as per the first response you need legal advise here, not guesswork from us based on limited information.
