    Hi,
I'm not sure if this can be discussed openly on the forum. So can anyone PM me about what to expect from an AA sponsor?

A sponsor is not a counsellor, therapist, or any of that malarkey.

Really they are a specific person to help you with their experience in the early days of recovery and to bring you through the steps.

Usually it is men with men, and women with women.

You are not tied to the person, if it doesn't work out, or you don't work well together, then try someone else.

    EDIT: PM Sent
