Applying for naturalization

My husband and I are American citizens, getting ready to apply for Irish citizenship. I had heard somewhere a while ago that people have been denied citizenship for traffic offences. I'm wondering if anyone has first or second hand knowledge of someone charged with a traffic offence who has either been granted or denied citizenship. Thanks

I know of a people denied for parking offences, a person denied for non production on demand of a driving licence. But it seems the current minister is not as strict, with people with one maybe two minor convictions being granted Naturalisation.

The current Minister definitely is much better about these things. If the offences are small and/or several years old you are not automatically going to be excluded from citizenship any more. Typically if there are any doubts you'll get a letter saying the decision has been deferred for a year to make sure you remain of good behaviour. Then it's up to you.
