Is it still possible to get a second passport these days and if so how do you go about it...?
I had one years ago which was valid for Israel only but I can't remember how I went about getting it.

Israel don't stamp your passport anymore. You get a piece of paper to hold on to. Same as Cuba. And no you can't have generally speaking more than one passport.

Certainly about five years ago it was.

I travelled to Palestine on business and got an Israeli stamp on my passport when entering from Jordan (maybe they do it differently at the airports, but crossing from Jordan they stamped my passport).

My work was such that I needed to visit Kuwait, Saudi and other countries in that region.

The process was to complete a new passport application and bring it in person to the passport office with my old passport and a letter from my employer stating that I needed to travel again both to Palestine and elsewhere. I was issued with a three-year passport in addition to the full ten-year passport I already had.

Obviously the passport office need to prevent fraud, but if you show good cause and argue your case they are generally very helpful.

They don't stamp coming from Jordan anymore either.

You can apply in person for a second passport, but you need to supply a valid reason (letter from eployer etc.) The second passport would have a maximum validity of 3 years.
