pheasant pen/ how many birds

    hey lads just looking for a bit of advice going putting up a pen itll be 24.5m x 24.5m so 600m2 what would be the maximum amount of birds i could put into that without over crowding it

    Im 99 percent pure as poults its recommended to be a foot square for each poult and as adults its meant to be about 2 ft square for each then. These are only guidelines though but if ya can help it at all don't overcrowd or they will feather pick like crazy

    -Space.

    Pheasant need a lot of space when they are young. If they are too crowded it could cause cannibalism. they need to .25 sq. feet for the first 2 weeks, 3-6 weeks .75 sq. feet per bird. Outdoor grow pens should give them about 15-20 sq.ft per bird.

    According to above adults needs about 20 sq. ft. per bird.

    600 sq. metres = 6458 sq. ft

    20 sq. ft. per bird = 6458 /20 = 323 adult birds
