What's my car worth?

I am considering selling my 07 Passat and am looking for a realistic value for it. It's a 1.6 FSI Comfortline with 123k km on it. Brown with a cream interior. Fully stamped service book with all receipts from my 2 years of ownership, one receipt from Foster Motors and the rest from George Dalton. Has a stone chip on the bonnet with a bit of lacquer about the size of a 10c coin missing at that spot. NCT until 01/15 and taxed until 03/15.

I'm looking for realistic values that I'd get in a private sale or what I'd get as a trade in, thanks.

    Brown with cream interior?

Something tells me you'll have to price it below average to sell.

It's not as bad as it sounds :), I'll try get find some pictures of equivalents online.

I had hoped it was worth more than 4k tops, but also wouldn't have thought I'd get 6-6.5 either. Once I find pics of the colour combo I'll post back

I'd begin by advertising it at €5500 and see what interest you get. If calls are thin on the ground then gradually drop it towards €5k. If someone then came in with an offer close to €5k then I'd seriously consider it. While the a petrol Passat has a smaller market than the more expensive diesels, it still will appeal to someone who has the good sense to know they don't need a diesel car.

A car is only worth what someone will pay for it.
Look through DD and throw it up at the cheaper end of the price range for similar models.

Thanks for all the replies. Will likely put up in the next few weeks and see how I get on. This is the colour combo that it has http://www.carzone.ie/search/Volkswagen/Passat/PASSAT-C/201413222671090/advert?channel=CARS

I personally think it looks quite well, and a hell of a lot better than it sounds :)
