Have heard of lads going to England to do courses but not sure if that was for own use or to get work out of it. Quite a few good videos on YouTube on it to.

Hi. Didn't want to create another new thread. Does anyone know if there are hoof trimming courses available anywhere around the country? I would love to be able to do my own bit of maintenance on the herd because around here you could be waiting 2-3wks for a hoof trimmer to call out. I have noticed that since i covered slats with rubber mats my cows hoofs are becoming overgrown very quickly and i have had a lot more lameness. Allot of time its just a quick pair of the hoof but I have had allot of other issues like sole ulcers, laminitis, cracked hoofs etc.

Came across this one so far but there may be others that i am unaware of.

I did that one a couple of years ago through Macra Skillnet, very good for covering the basics. They will be running courses near enough to you depending on the time of year and demand.

Embryonics in the UK. Very near Manchester airport. I did their vet version for lameness and it was superb. Would be worth looking into their stockperson lameness course.

Thanks for your reply. I will look them up. I wonder what length is the course. 1 day? 2 days? 3?
