123 insurance give out 25 Euro perfectcard vouchers to people who are referred and become a new customer. These work on the mastercard network, I used one in Aldi today, no problem. They are signature based rather than chip and pin

Check 123 dot ie/refer-a-friend for full details.

For the refer a friend to go through the purchase is made over the phone. The quote price is the very same as online. Only difference is you get a 25 Euro voucher free if you have a referral code (their policy no.) from someone.

Get policy numbers from friends or family <Mod Snip>. Both people get the 25 Euro voucher.

    No referrals please

I will make a random statement and not back it up.

I've used 123.ie for years. This year my premium jumped about 150 euro. No reason, usual "insurance is going up across the board". Rang a competitor and got a much better quote. I presume the increase is due to their financial troubles.

My advice if you are with 123, ring around for a quote. It saved me multiples of 25 euro :)

I will say this for 123, I had my windows smashed and it was fixed the next day no problems. So their service was great.

Do I have to? No I dont, I worked there and was insured by them so I'd rather not get into it.

Never been more than a year with the same insurance company. I switch every year. Always money to be saved. I've only called 123 once two weeks when I broke down 40 miles from home and the helped me out. Paid for a tow, garage and taxi fare. Thought the service was excellent. Never claimed otherwise so can't comment on that.

123 are owned by RSA and RSA had to give a massive cash injection to 123.ie to balance the books, so all 123's policy will go up an amount.
Insurance is simple, there is no loyalty, every year, get the best cover you can, for the best value price. No big deal.

My experience with 123....... I have been insured on house for 3 years and car for two. I have no other links to them. I have 5 or 6 years no claims discount. I price around each time and 123 beat the quote of the 6 or 8 other companies I try for the exact same or better cover. My current quote is around 320 for car and similar for home. Other quotes I get are between 30 and around 200 more expensive for the car policy. Before 123 / RSA, I was insured with Quinn.
The quotes I got this year from 123 for car and home were less than last year. I had priced around and had expected to have to change but no, I stayed another year with them due to for my circumstances they were the lowest quote I could get.
I have not had to claim with them. Only bad experience was minor, I had to request a tax disc holder twice, it didn't arrive/ get sent first time. Apart from that all good so far.

I bought car insurance for my mum on 123 a few weeks ago and found they beat the competition by €200.
Strangely the initial quote I got was as high as other competitors but they then sent an email to followup containing a much lower quote. When I clicked through on the email the price I was eventually offered to sign up at was 50 lower than the email price!
So I'd advice not ignoring the email they send.
I got "comprehensive extra" insurance on a 14 year old car for €245.
If anyone wants a referal for free money card PM me!

I don't work in 123/RSA but as an actuary I can tell you that there is no one company that is best value. It depends hugely on your very personal circumstances.

It might be cheap for someone aged x living in Dublin driving car y, etc and very expensive for another type of person. On the other hand, another company could have different loads/discounts associated with these and could be the opposite.

There is a whole lot more I could go in to but my advice is to check around every year and go with whoever is cheapest each year, moving every time if necessary.

Yes, it depends on very particular circumstances . I added my brother (31) as a named driver, no change to my premium. My mam has a 123 policy and added her son (another older brother of mine- 38, no points etc) who is a named driver on his wife's policy and has a commercial vehicle insurance in his name. Mams premium increased by about 50 Euro.
